Stir up service |
A special service where we stir up cakes to be eaten at the crib service at Christmas, and to be distributed around the parish. Stir up Sunday is so called because of an old prayer : "Stir up, we beseech thee, O Lord, the wills of thy faithful people; that they, plenteously bringing forth the fruit of good works, may of thee be plenteously rewarded; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen" |
