St Mary's church at dawn

Church of St Mary the Virgin,
Church Lane, Send, Woking Surrey

has housed Christian Worship for 800 years.
The church is Anglican (Church of England) and services are held every Sunday throughout the year, and at the major festivals of Christmas and Easter.  

Send Church was awarded the Guildford Life with style award for 2007/8, sponsored by the Surrey Advertiser newspaper, and the Mayor's Award for Access 2008 which acknowledges the improvements made to make the building accessible to all. It was chosen as a location for the church scenes in Jane Austen's "Emma"  recently broadcast on BBC Television.

St Mary's Church is the parish church for the village of Send. It is situated near the towns of Woking and Guildford in a rural part of the county of Surrey.
It is an Anglican (Church of England) church in the Woking Deanery which is part of the Diocese of Guildford.
