WELCOME TO THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF ST MARY’S!
Hello there! Pull up a chair and make yourself at home. Life can be a bit of a muddle sometimes, can’t it? Like trying to eat a jam doughnut without licking your lips—utterly impossible!
But here at St Mary’s Send, we think growing up should be a grand, glittering adventure, and we’d love for you to join our merry band of explorers in the Church Rooms.
Sunday Club: ages 3-12
Where: St Mary’s Church Rooms, Send Road, Send
When: 2 nd and 4 th Sundays, 10:30-11:30am
If you’re in nursery (age 3 up) or primary school, this is the place to be! It’s much more exciting than tidying your room (which, let’s face it, is terribly dull). We meet at the Church Rooms for a whirlwind of spectacular crafts, slightly messy games, and marvellous stories from the Bible.
It’s all about discovering how much God loves you—even if you’ve got mismatched socks and chocolate on your face!
Youth Alpha Conversation (YAC): Big Chats & Big Snacks
Where: St Mary’s Church Rooms, Send Road, Send
When: second Sunday in the month, 6.00pm-7:30pm
For the slightly more “grown-up” humans (secondary schoolers, we’re looking at you!), we have Youth Alpha Conversation (that’s a bit of a mouthful so we call it YAC for short!)
We start with some truly scrumptious food—because nobody can ponder the mysteries of the universe on an empty tummy. Think cookies or cake – a proper Sunday evening treat! Then, we read our Bibles together and have a proper natter about the big questions: Does everyone matter to God? Can I believe in Darwin and Jesus? How can we believe the Bible is true? Would Jesus have eaten pizza? No question is too silly, and there’s absolutely no homework. Hurrah! And we always manage to squeeze in a board game or card game – and we try (and sometimes fail) not to get too competitive!
Other stuff you might like!
At Christmas we put on a Nativity play in St Mary’s and everyone who wants a part, small or big, is guaranteed to be cast! We also get involved in leading some of the main services at St Mary’s (move over Rev!) We also sometimes have trips (think bowling, donutting or the
driving range) and we’ve had Christmas parties, Halloween light parties and even a toilet themed event!
